The time has gone when cable TV was the only option available for watching TV and staying entertained. Today, streaming on TV has become a lot easier and you can enjoy the services even without paying for and subscribing to a cable connection. For streaming on TV, service providers transmit signals, and the TVs catch them.

Nowadays, all you need is a TV set and an internet connection, and you are ready for live TV streaming. Streaming means that everything is available online. You click on the play button, and it will start without asking you to download anything. It means you do not need any storage device through which you can download the data. However, internet connection plays a significant role here.

Slow internet connections will make your entire experience terrible and you will end up facing lag issues. Streaming service, regardless of any sort, involves internet connectivity and bandwidth. You have to do your research based on the content consumption and the number of internet users at your house and then invest in an internet service accordingly. Once you have an estimate about internet consumption, you will know the data you require and will be able to find something that suits your budget as well. However, we recommend Mediacom for its super-fast internet, extensive data, and budget-friendly plans.

Keep the performance of customer support of your desired ISP into consideration. This can be a deal-breaker, if it will take days or weeks to resolve, in case you face any issue. We would recommend Mediacom customer support, based on their promptness and satisfactory response rate.

What is TV streaming and how does it work?

In simpler words, streaming takes place whenever a consumer watches TV content or listens to podcasts via an Internet-connected device. Through streaming, the media file that is played on the customer’s device is stored remotely and is communicated in a few seconds at a time via the Internet.

You need to use devices as Roku or Chromecast to connect it to your TV screens or you can stream the content directly on your laptop or smart devices by simply logging in.

Some of the commonly known streaming services are Hulu and Netflix. They charge you a monthly subscription fee and give you endless entertainment throughout the month. These are the best and most cost-effective options when comparing them with the cost of buying movie tickets and watching movies there.

Netflix or Hulu: What are the recommended streaming services?

There are many streaming services in the market, but we recommend Netflix. However, most of you may not agree with us. Those who do not want to use Netflix can switch to Hulu streaming services instead. Hulu offers FOX and NBC services, which you may not get to, enjoy on Netflix. Cord-cutters who want to enjoy shows like The Voice or America’s Got Talent can choose Hulu. Another advantage is the uploading of shows episode by episode. This is something you cannot get as a Netflix user. The feature of pay-per-view on new movies is a common feature on both Hulu and Netflix.

When it comes to pricing, Netflix charges you according to the number of devices you want to connect. One screen service cost is $7.99 per month. For two screens and HD quality or three screens and Ultra HD quality, you have to pay $10.99 and $13.99 per month, respectively.

What are the other options when looking for streaming services?

There are various other services accessible in the market which include, peacock, Amazon Prime, YouTube TV, Disney, HBO Max, and Crunchyroll to name a few. You have to do your research before purchasing any streaming service. They do not come with a contract that means you are free to switch or discontinue whenever you want. Moreover, you can get a trial version and see which one is most relevant to your preferred content. Since cable services are on the costly side and Streaming services are on the cheaper side, you can either go hybrid. Alternatively, maybe you can get more than one streaming service and you will still be paying less than an average monthly cable bill.

Final Word

Streaming is everything we consume through the internet whether that’s video content or podcasts or music on Sound Cloud/Spotify.
