Michael Fourte is a New Jersey-based attorney, real estate broker, and Navy Reserve Captain whose career spans law, business, and national defense. Since 1998, Michael Fourte has served in the United States Navy, rising through leadership posts that include Commanding Officer roles in Djibouti and San Diego, and earning honors such as the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. He manages the Law Offices of Michael Fourte and serves as CEO of Fourte International, LLC, applying legal expertise in real estate, land use, and regulatory compliance. Alongside his wife, Mary, he also built Fourte International Real Estate into a firm managing more than $20 million in assets, and guides the New Jersey Real Estate Institute in training incoming agents. His combination of military discipline and private-sector leadership now informs his newest role as acting Reserve Chief of Staff for Commander of the US Third Fleet.

Michael Fourte received a promotion to the role of acting Reserve Chief of Staff (RCOS) for Commander of the US Third Fleet (C3F). It is the latest achievement in Fourte’s accomplished military career, which consists of more than two decades of service in the United States Navy Reserve.

During this time, Captain Fourte has garnered comprehensive experience in the areas of command leadership, joint force coordination, and operational planning. As acting RCOS, Captain Fourte functions as a senior advisor to Third Fleet leadership, in addition to managing reserve integration efforts, ensuring operational readiness, and coordinating staff activities for a range of maritime operations.

He oversees upwards of 500 reservists supporting the US Navy’s Third Fleet mission. Captain Fourte has already undertaken leadership duties with the fleet as Commanding Officer of the C3F N3 unit. He is the second-highest ranking Third Fleet reservist, reporting to the Deputy Commander.

Prior to his appointment to acting RCOS, Captain Fourte held a multitude of senior staff roles and command positions in support of US Navy fleet operations around the world. His background aligns well with a leadership position that demands familiarity with both active duty operations and reserve service, allowing him to effectively facilitate the execution of diverse mission objectives.

Beyond his extensive military service, he draws on a successful background in the private sector. His resume includes leadership roles as Managing Attorney of the Law Offices of Michael Fourte and Managing Member of Fourte International Real Estate. Captain Fourte’s unique combination of private business leadership and operational military success primes him for success as acting RCOS for Commander of the US Third Fleet.

Third Fleet is the world’s largest operationally active numbered fleet. As such, the fleet is responsible for the majority of global maritime areas, as well as numerous carrier strike groups, including many deployed in the Middle East.

Third Fleet began operations in 1943 and immediately began a series of operations against Japanese forces in the Central Pacific theater during World War II. The US military deactivated the Third Fleet in 1945 following the conclusion of World War II, but the numbered fleet resumed operations in 1973.

Today, C3F units engage in operations covering approximately 50 million square miles of the northern and eastern Pacific Ocean, including the Aleutian Islands, the Bering Sea, and the coast of Alaska. The scope of Third Fleet’s aegis places considerable importance on the security of operations.

The region includes several significant oil and trade sea communication lines, representing considerable economic value to both the United States and a host of allied nations throughout the Pacific Rim. Third Fleet leaders are tasked with the planning and execution of naval operations critical to regional security and maritime homeland defense, as well as humanitarian services executed by naval and Coast Guard forces.

The Third Fleet, which consists of aircraft, submarines, and ships in Washington, Hawaii, and California, also provides personnel training.

In his new position as acting RCOS, Captain Fourte is tasked with ensuring full reserve integration and alignment with critical Third Fleet strategic objectives around the world. His continued advancement denotes both his record of professional achievements and the US military’s confidence in his ability to guide the Navy Reserve for years to come.
