As a student, you will have to juggle pressure, academics, social life, and personal life all at once. Your mental health is important, and with proper self-care, college can be fun and life-changing. Here are some wellness activities you could do as a student.

Go out in nature

College course loads may require you to be in front of your screen most of the day, which can cause eye strain, neck pain, and stress. Technology is prominent in our day and age, but we should unplug and try to step out into nature. Outdoor time has restorative effects and can lower your cortisol levels, allowing you to destress and calm down. Taking a walk or just sitting in a park near your place or Skye at Holland condo gardens could help with your mental health.

Socialize

Participate in group projects, campus clubs, events, and extracurricular activities. Spend your energy meeting new people and friends and building relationships that can develop into meaningful connections and lessen isolation. Having friends around can affect you positively because you have someone to talk to and be with during your college journey.

Try relaxation methods

Practice meditation or yoga. Each has its own benefits, such as learning how to pause and breathe slowly to calm down and achieving better flexibility and balance. These activities can be done to help keep you calm and feel relaxed.

Practice Mindfulness

Being mindful of your own emotions and expressing them can have its benefits. It can reduce your mental stress and help you process what you feel so you can think properly and take the proper steps you need to deal with it.

Find a way to destress

College can be really stressful with all the deadlines, exams, projects, and total screen time you are getting. Find something you like to do to relieve stress, like going to the gym to lift weights, exercising, drawing, sketching, and more. There are many things to do to destress; you just have to find yours.
