Getting a new SIM card today means far more than just calls and data. Modern prepaid plans are evolving into complete digital bundles in which connectivity and entertainment are packaged together. By integrating streaming platforms directly into your recharge, telecom providers remove the hassle of managing multiple subscriptions. This means that with a single recharge, you can unlock access to dozens of entertainment apps without paying separately for each service.

For many Indians streaming content on their phones, this shift is transformative. It changes not only how people pay for entertainment but also how they experience it. One recharge delivers both seamless communication and a ready-made content library, covering movies, TV shows, sports, and even educational content. Families benefit from shared access to OTT apps, while younger audiences can enjoy gaming and streaming.

The bundled approach also makes premium content more affordable, as the value of OTT subscriptions often exceeds the cost of the plan. In essence, prepaid plans are no longer just about staying connected. They’re about creating a one-stop gateway to entertainment and lifestyle services, reshaping the way we engage with the internet every day.

What Are OTT Bundled Prepaid Plans?

An OTT bundled prepaid plan combines your mobile phone recharge with access to multiple streaming platforms in a single subscription. Instead of paying separately for each app, you get them together through a single plan from your telecom provider.

When you recharge with a bundled plan, you pay one fixed price and receive data, unlimited calling, and login access to 15–25 OTT apps. For example, with an Airtel prepaid SIM card, you can access streaming platforms that cost ₹750. The difference from traditional recharges is straightforward: one payment covers your connectivity and your content library.

A typical bundle might include platforms across movies, web series, live sports, and regional content. You manage a single renewal date instead of tracking expiry dates for five or six individual subscriptions.

The Cost Advantage: Why Bundles Save Money

Bundled plans save 40–60% compared to buying individual OTT subscriptions separately. Subscribing to the five top streaming apps individually costs roughly ₹1,200 per month. A bundled plan gives you those same five platforms, plus 20 more, for under ₹400 per month.

One payment covers multiple platforms, which simplifies your entertainment expenses. You do not need to manage several renewal dates or track which card is linked to which subscription. The combined monthly cost of the included OTT apps in a typical bundle is estimated at over ₹1,000. By choosing a bundled plan, you get these apps at nearly one-fourth of that price.

For 90% of Indian households, OTT bundles deliver 60–70% cost savings compared with standalone subscriptions. The average annual subscription cost across OTT platforms in India is ₹735, reflecting the country’s low average revenue per user. Bundling makes financial sense if you regularly use more than two or three streaming services.

How Mobile Entertainment Consumption Is Changing

India’s streaming audience grew 10% year-over-year to 601 million users in 2025. Smartphones dominate how Indians watch content: 97% of the streaming audience uses smartphones, and 81% watch exclusively on mobile devices.

Indians collectively spent 1.1 trillion hours on smartphones in 2024. On average, they spent 5 hours per day on mobile screens. Of this, nearly 70% is devoted to social media platforms, gaming, and videos. India has around 659 million smartphone users, making it the second-largest smartphone market in the world.

The average monthly data consumption reached 20.27 GB as of March 2024, up from just 0.27 GB in 2014–15. This represents a compound annual growth rate of 54%. Affordable data plans have made online streaming accessible to a larger segment of the population. The increasing penetration of smartphones, coupled with these affordable data plans, has led to a surge in users consuming digital content on their phones rather than on televisions or laptops.

What You Get in a Typical OTT Bundle

A bundled plan unlocks access to a wide variety of TV shows, blockbuster movies, documentaries, and web series from leading platforms. You get access to over 50,000 movies, shows, and web series across various platforms in one subscription.

OTT bundles provide single login access for all included platforms. Content discovery becomes easier when you can browse multiple libraries through a single aggregated interface. Billing remains simple: a single recurring charge covers everything.

Multi-device access extends your subscription beyond your phone. Most bundles allow you to log in on four devices and stream on two devices simultaneously, so family members can watch on their phones, tablets, or TVs at the same time.

India’s linguistic diversity drives demand for regional content across over 1,600 spoken languages. Bundled plans typically include platforms covering Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, and other regional languages, giving you access to content in the languages you and your household actually speak.

OTT bundled prepaid plans have reshaped how Indian mobile users access entertainment. Instead of managing multiple subscriptions, you get dozens of streaming platforms with a single mobile phone recharge. The cost savings are substantial: up to 60% compared with buying apps individually. With 60 crore Indians now streaming on their phones, bundled plans match how people actually consume content.
