There are many different options available when it comes to rug cleaning methods. The critical thing to remember is that specific procedures are better suited for cleaning various rugs.

For example, if you have a delicate oriental rug, it may become damaged if exposed to boiling water used in steam cleaning. This kind of damage could cause the dye in the rug to run and ruin the look of your rug.

Instead of using steam cleaning, it may be better to use a dry clean solution. It will allow you to get the area on your oriental rug cleaned while ensuring that it is not damaged in the process.

Keep reading to learn some of the methods used by rug cleaning studio city:

1. Vacuuming

It is probably the most basic and standard way to clean a rug. By vacuuming the rug regularly, you can remove any dirt or dust that may have settled on it. Make sure to use a vacuum with a beater bar attachment to ensure that all of the dirt is removed.

2. Spot cleaning

If you have a rug that is only lightly soiled, you may be able to get away with spot cleaning it. To do this, dampen the rug area with cool water and add a few drops of gentle dishwashing liquid. Use a sponge or brush to scrub the area for best results gently.

3. Dry clean solution

The dry cleaning solution can be used on many types of rugs. For the best results, use it with a pump-up sprayer. Be sure to test any new cleaner on an inconspicuous area of your rug first to ensure that it does not cause any damage.

4. Steam or hot water

While not recommended for delicate oriental rugs, this is a good option for cleaning other types of rugs. Just be sure not to use boiling water and test the water’s temperature on an inconspicuous area of the rug first.

5. Shampooing

This method is best suited for synthetic rugs. Be sure to use a shampoo that is specifically designed for carpets. Apply the shampoo to the rug and use a brush or sponge to work it in. Rinse the rug thoroughly with cool water.

6. Baking soda

If your rug has a foul odor, you may be able to get rid of it by using baking soda. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the rug and let it sit for a few hours. Then, use a vacuum to remove the baking soda.

7. Vinegar

If your rug has a mildew or mold problem, you can try using vinegar to get rid of it. Pour white vinegar onto a cloth and wipe down the affected area. Let the vinegar dry completely before using a fan to blow on the spot.

8. Shaving cream

If your rug has a stain that won’t come out with other methods, you can use shaving cream. Apply the shaving cream directly to the affected area and let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing it with a sponge or brush. Then rinse the area thoroughly with cool water.

In conclusion, no matter which method you use to clean your rug, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
